Nelson Monument (Calton Hill, Edinburgh) – looking like a tall stone telescope from afar, this is a monument for Admiral Lord Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. This monument contains a time ball which is dropped daily at 1:00 pm. The top of the monument provides visitors with views of the city and the sea. Admission: £6 (both adults and children to enter the monument tower). Hours: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (daily).
