Portsmouth – this has long been known as the home of the British Navy and one place that’s dominated by the sea. Its harbor has been a military port since the early days of King Henry VII (making this one of the historical and best cities to visit in the UK). You can visit the Historic Dockyard. It has HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, and Henry VIII’s 16th century flagship Mary Rose, which is on display. From the top of the Spinnaker Tower, you can also see great views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight.
